Wild Republic Mallard Duck Audubon Bird with Real Calls Great news for all bird enthusiasts! Wild Republic has entered into a partnership with the National Audubon Society to create a line of realistic looking plush beanbag birds. This partnership also includes The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, who has provided the authentic sounds for each bird to further add to the realism of these plush toys.
Each bird's lifelike design and impeccable detailing is the result of input from Audubon, where each bird is painstakingly examined for the maximum level of perfection in a five-inch plush toy. The authentic bird songs in the plush toy provided by Cornell represent hours, months, even years of in-the-field work conducted by expert recordists. This Mallard's call was recorded March 3, 1956 in New York, USA, and was the call given during flock interactions while feeding.
Mallards are found in freshwater ponds, marshes and lakes throughout much of North America. As part of the dabbler family of ducks, they eat food along the surface of the water. They pull snails, plants and seeds up from the shallows by tipping upside down or walking along the waters edge. Some Mallards are comfortable near people. The males' distinctive green heads make them easy to identify. | Manufacturer | Wild Republic | | Manufacturer's Part No. | 64098 | | Suggested Retail Price | 7.49 | | Our Price | 5.99 | | Size | 6" | | Category | Stuffed Animals | | Material | Plush | | Collection | Audubon Birds | | | Ready to Order? | | List Price: | $7.49
