Great news for all bird enthusiasts! Wild Republic has entered into a partnership with the National Audubon Society to create a line of realistic-looking plush beanbag birds. This partnership also includes the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, which has provided the authentic sounds for each bird to further add to the realism of these plush toys.
Each bird's lifelike design and impeccable detailing are the result of input from Audubon, where each bird is painstakingly examined for the maximum level of perfection in a five-inch plush toy. The authentic bird songs in the plush toy provided by Cornell represent hours, months, even years of in-the-field work conducted by expert recordists.
The Kirtland's warbler is one of the rarest members of the wood warbler family. This endangered bird makes its home in just a few areas, mostly in Michigan's northern lower and upper peninsulas. The Kirtland's warbler is a ground nester and generally makes its nest hidden in the grasses or shrubs of the jack pine forests. Its diet consists of caterpillars, butterflies, moths, flies, and grasshoppers. It also enjoys blueberries when in season.
The Kirtland's Warbler is part of Wild Republic's Endangered Birds Series 1 collection.
