Great news for all bird enthusiasts! Wild Republic has entered into a partnership with the National Audubon Society to create a line of realistic looking plush beanbag state birds. This partnership also includes The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, who has provided the authentic sounds for each bird to further add to the realism of these plush toys.

This Ring-necked Pheasant's call was recorded April 12, 1991 in Cornwall, England and was a male song to attract a mate.

These attractive game birds, introduced to the United States from their native range in Asia, have beautifully patterned brown feathers, long tails and shiny green heads. It is the state bird of South Dakota, and occurs over much of the northern half of the United States. Most of their time is spent at ground level, eating insects, plants and seeds. Nests are generally made on the ground. Fast running and quick take-offs occur when the birds are approached.
