Wild Republic Northern Mockingbird Audubon Bird with Real Calls Great news for all bird enthusiasts! Wild Republic has entered into a partnership with the National Audubon Society to create a line of realistic looking plush beanbag state birds. This partnership also includes The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, who has provided the authentic sounds for each bird to further add to the realism of these plush toys.
This Northern Mockingbird's call was recorded May 3, 1991 in Green Valley, Arizona, USA, and was a male song to attract a mate.
The popular Mockingbird is the state bird for Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Common across much of the eastern and southern United States, Mockingbirds are found in a wide range of habitats. These aptly named birds are excellent mimics, often copying the sound of other bird, mammals and insects. Their evening song can often be heard late into the night, particularly under moonlit skies.
